Hello there! A new day, a new experience...isn't this world an interesting place. I wanted to say hello and tell you why I am here. I have lived most of my life behind blinders. I thought that I lived in the most Democratic country in the world and "I" was making a difference by voting. I found out just recently that I was duped for 55 years.
A little white haired man in glasses opened my eyes and made me aware for the first time. He showed me that the people that I had trusted with my life and my family's life had not been keeping my needs or any other constituents needs in mind when spending the fed. They did not care if I kept a roof over my head or ate...they were only thinking of themselves and their bankrolls - the big contributors and super pacs, the millionaires, the billionaires...the 1%.
This same little man told me that I could make a difference and that there are many ways to get involved. There are those among us that could start a grassroots campaign...no matter how small or local. We could start at the bottom and bring about change in our own town, on a school board or reach higher to state or federal positions. These are not the only ways to become part of the change. Become active: find a cause and join it. Build awareness: do live feeds on Facebook or Twitter, be active in progressive groups. Since I am disabled and older I don't feel I would be an effective candidate but I do have a gift and can put my thoughts and feeling down on paper and into words so I decided that I would write. So here I am; saying hello to you all and I hope you come back again to hear my thoughts on what is going on in the world.
